Neutral Spine and Imprinted Spine Explained


The neutral spine is the natural curve in your back which helps your muscle work in an optimal way, while the imprinted spine puts your back in a semi protected position for more difficult exercises.  Here, Studio Pilates Physiotherapist and Director of Education, James Mangahas, shares the importance of our spinal position when doing Pilates, and why it is important to know the difference between neutral spine and imprinted spine. In this video, he also provides pointers on how to achieve these positions.
